Protection from Eviction Act 1977

This Act makes harassment and and unlawful eviction of a resident a criminal offence and is subject to fines of up to £5000 and imprisonment of up to 2 years in the most serious cases.

Housing Act 1996

The housing Act 1996 provides Landlords with new powers to bring a tenancy to an end where the behaviour of tenants has become unacceptable.

Landlord and tenant Act 1985

Section 1 provides that if the tenant submits a written request for the name and address of his Landlord this information must be furnished in writing within 21 days. failure to do so can result in a fine of up to £2500.
